AN IMPORTANT AND URGENT UP-DATE!
BESS 2008
Dear Friends,
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Liverpool for BESS 2008 in the first week of June.
At this stage, however, it is necessary to up-date all delegates and our industry colleagues on some events that have occurred over the last week and the solution to the problems that have arisen. The most important point is that the venue for the meeting is now the Liverpool (BT) Convention Centre on the waterfront.
Why has the venue changed so close to the meeting?
The problem that has arisen is that the Adelphi Hotel is now unable to provide the space for the Industry Exhibition! We were only informed about this catastrophe this week! Therefore, it was necessary to make some major decisions. Luckily the Convention Centre, which has always been our preferred choice, is available and is able to provide us with the facilities for the meeting that we require. The Adelphi are working with us and the Convention Centre Team to ensure that the BESS meeting is relocated with the minimum of inconvenience.
We are aware that there are at least 160 delegates who will be staying at the Adelphi. To accommodate this the Adelphi will provide coach transport between the hotel and Convention Centre every day and have proposed a shuttle bus for flexibility during the first morning of the meeting. We feel that at this late stage it would be unwise to try and change the bookings as availability elsewhere is limited and we will still have exclusive use of some of the hotel facilities. For those travelling by car there is a multi-storey car park at the Convention Centre – please see the attached fact sheet for details of parking and directions on how to get to the Convention Centre.
