BESS 2018 was held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow from 20-22 June 2018. This was the 30th BESS scientific meeting and a return to Glasgow, the city that hosted the first BESS event! The local organising committee, Andrew Brooksbank, Paul Jenkins and Linda Mercer were joined by their guest lecturer Mark Frankle, whilst BESS President, Peter Brownson welcomed Peter Millett as the Presidential guest speaker.
The organising committee also hosted the second in our series of four instructional courses. The course was held on the day preceding the start of the conference, 19 June 2018 and focused on the management of trauma to the shoulder and elbow.
The SEC offered a spectacular riverside location and an exciting modern venue with excellent transport links to the UK and beyond. We had access to over 800 hotel rooms on site along with plenty of local accommodation options to suit all requirements.
Along with all of this, we had some great delegate recommendations and offers, provided by the Glasgow Convention Bureau, of places to explore in Glasgow and further afield including restaurants, shops and tours - see here for more details.
We hope you enjoyed the event and look forward to seeing you at Leeds @Harrogate 2019.
