Information:

The Shoulder Unit is run by 3 Consultants (Graham Tytherleigh-Strong, Lee Van Rensburg & Niel Kang) with a specialist physiotherapist.

The team sees a combination of routine elective shoulder and elbow cases as well as tertiary referral cases. Addenbrooke’s is a Major Trauma Centre and the team is involved in the management and treatment of complex shoulder and elbow trauma from around the region.

The Fellow will be exposed to all aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery including arthroscopic procedures, arthroplasty, trauma and revision surgery. There are regular weekly elective and upper limb trauma lists with all three of the supervising consultants. There is a routine parallel operating list.

The Fellow will be actively involved in research and audit and will be responsible for running the MDT meeting. They will be expected to take on and, potentially, initiate original research which should lead to presentations and publication.

The Fellow will also be expected to undertake teaching for the medical students, post-graduate trainees and orthopaedic trainees.
