Comments from previous fellows.

The Liverpool Fellowship gave me exposure to the entire spectrum of shoulder and elbow conditions in terms of conservative and operative management of both degenerative and traumatic conditions. Highlights include arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery, clinical research and management opportunities which I believe to be unique to this fellowship.

The Liverpool shoulder and elbow fellowship lasts for a year, starting either in August or February. You will work directly with 4 Consultants (P.Brownson, I.Guisasola, M.Smith, M.Kent) alongside one other fellow and one registrar. The fellowship gives you an excellent clinical experience with approximately 2 elective operating lists occurring 3 days a week at Broadgreen hospital, 2 elective clinics per week and a subspecialty trauma list per week. There is also ample chance for research opportunities with a number of randomised controlled studies being performed as well as access to Liverpool university. The fellowship is designed to ensure you get the appropriate experience to allow an easier transition to consultant grade and there is good flexibility to ensure it is tailored to your specific needs.Overall an excellent fellowship.
