Information:

The Shoulder Unit is run by 2 consultants in conjunction with a specialist physiotherapist. The team sees a combination of routine elective shoulder and elbow patients as well as regional tertiary referral and complex trauma cases from the Major Trauma Unit.

There will be exposure to the full range of arthroscopic procedures in the shoulder and elbow as well as arthroplasty, trauma and revision surgery.

The fellow undertakes regular weekly elective and upper limb trauma lists with both supervising consultants. There is the opportunity for parallel and independent operating as experience allows.

The unit is actively involved in research and audit. The fellow will be expected to undertake research projects leading to publication.

As an Honorary Clinical Lecturer the fellow will also undertake teaching for orthopaedic trainees and medical students on a formal and informal basis.
