| Details: | The Calvert Fellowship is a new post established in memory of one of the founders of the Shoulder Unit, the late Mr Paul Calvert. Paul was a dedicated shoulder surgeon with a passion for the teaching, training and development of shoulder surgery. He worked at the Shoulder Unit from 1991 until he passed away in 2004 and was well-known throughout London, the UK and internationally for his contributions to the orthopaedic surgical profession. This post is clinically-based and is intended to give candidates a wide exposure to current techniques in shoulder and elbow surgery, with a particular emphasis on arthroscopic surgery, though fracture fixation and joint replacement surgery are also commonly performed by the consultants in the Unit. There are four surgeons, Mr Philip Ahrens, Mr Carlos Cobiella, Mr Steve Corbett and Mr Andrew Wallace, who work closely with musculoskeletal radiologists, anaesthetists and physiotherapists. |
