Call for Papers

BESS invites the submission of a 300 word abstract for papers for the above meeting.  If the abstract is accepted for podium or poster presentation it will be published in the Proceedings supplement of Shoulder and Elbow.  The paper will be accepted on the understanding that the senior author will be present at the meeting to support the presentation.  No individual person is allowed to present more than one paper at the meeting but can be named on other papers presented.  The Lipman Kessel prize to the presenter of the best paper will be awarded at the end of the annual meeting.  The poster prize will be awarded to the presenter of the best poster which will be judged on day two of the meeting.  There will be a Paul Calvert Prize for the best Clinical Research Paper. An Ian Kelly Endeavour prize and best AHP presentation prize will also be awarded.

All submissions must be via the BESS website bess.org.uk .  All communications regarding the paper will be by email only to the corresponding author.  We expect to accept the top 42 submissions for podium presentations and the next 20 best submissions for poster presentation.  There is no facility to submit a paper for consideration for poster only.

The deadline for submissions will be midnight 5th April 2011.  No submissions will be accepted, under any circumstances, after this date.

Please note that applicants are encouraged to submit their abstracts early and to prepare the text carefully prior to on-line submission according to the instruction for authors (see web site).  Amendments are not accepted after submission and subsequent duplicates will automatically be deleted.

Confirmation of submission will be sent by email.  If not received within 2 hours then the abstract has not been successfully submitted.  We encourage authors to retain this confirmation email in case of dispute.  The judging committee will not accept any responsibility for missing abstracts where the authors cannot produce the submission confirmation email. A final decision of accepted papers will be made by 26th April 2011 and an email sent to the corresponding author.
