| Details: | The Upper Limb Unit offers six Fellowships - usually of year 5/6 SpR level. The posts are suitable for surgeons with special interests in Hand, Elbow and Shoulder Surgery. Hand and Wrist Surgery covers arthritis, post trauma reconstruction, routine tendon and nerve surgery and the management of Dupuytren's disease, as well as complex trauma. The Arthritis surgery accounts for 60% of the work and there is a busy Rheumatology Unit on site with 3 Rheumatologists. Shoulder and Elbow surgery covers primary and revision arthroplasty, arthroscopic and sports surgery and complex trauma. Each of our surgeons has special and complementary interests. Fellows have the opportunity of designing their Fellowship to suit their individual needs and interests. There is ample opportunity for basic science and clinical research, with the support of our research team, as well as the Trust's very active and dynamic R&D Department. Research and teaching are regarded as an integral part of the job. In addition to these, there are Two Clinical Research Fellows in Orthopaedics (Senior SHO level) |
